The Hobbit and I spend our days pottering in the veggie garden, milking our cow, tending the bees, and making preserves, cheeses, and breads, and most importantly relaxing and dreaming over our morning coffee.
When you visit us, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in our farm activities, connect with the local culture, and plan trips to discover what the region has to offer, from rich Māori tradition, to expansive white sandy beaches, great fishing and scenic locations like the Bay of Islands.
Fernlea just five minutes from the village of Kaiwaka, which is the gateway to New Zealand’s winterless north. If you are coming from Auckland we are about 96 km heading north on state highway one, the trip should take you about an hour and 20 minutes.
